Foreword

In a world that is constantly evolving, it is crucial to have clear guidelines to ensure that our actions are in line with our shared values. This Code of Conduct serves as a guide for all employees, managers and business partners who share in our joint success.  

We place great value on honesty, transparency, and professionalism in all our actions. Through respect for colleagues, customers, suppliers, and all other stakeholders, we strive for long-term positive relationships. This code underlines our commitment, avoids private and professional conflicts of interest, and strictly reject any form of bribery.

We are aware that our success is not only measured in terms of economic indicators, but also by our contribution to society and our responsibility towards the environment. This Code of Conduct reflects our commitment to sustainable and responsible behavior.

It is important to us to promote a culture of open communication in which there is room for concerns and questions. We therefore encourage all employees to actively participate in the dialog and to immediately report suspicious activities to the management immediately.

1. PRINCIPLES

We comply with the principle of legality in all actions, measures, contracts, and other procedures within ROPEX Industrie-Elektronik GmbH. In particular we refrain from deceiving customers, authorities or the public any form of deception, and we do not support any such attempts at deception by third parties. 

The implementation of the principle of legality includes, among other things, the punctual payment of all taxes and customs duties due, compliance with duties due, compliance with the provisions of competition and antitrust law, the strict prohibition of corruption and money laundering, observing the current state of the art, obtaining the necessary official permits, complying with the provisions of export control law and respecting the legal rights of third parties. This principle is not only based on the consideration that violations can result in considerable business disadvantages through criminal prosecution, fines or claims for damages. Rather, we are committed to act exclusively legally, irrespective of whether ROPEX gains any benefit from this or not. Legality and the values of ROPEX take precedence over customer wishes or other economic interests. 

It is our responsibility to ensure compliance with the law in the area in which we operate, and we are called upon to continuously review our working environment in terms of legality, responsibility, and fairness. If we feel uncertain about a decision regarding legality, responsibility and fairness, our managers, the compliance organization, or the legal department are available to us as contacts. Irrespective of the sanctions provided for by law, a breach of this Code of Conduct will always lead to disciplinary measures, which may include dismissal. We also reserve the right to assert claims for damages against the person concerned.

2. HUMAN RIGHTS

It is important to understand that human rights are fundamental rights that each of us is entitled to, such as the right to life, liberty, freedom of expression, education, health, and a decent life. It is not only right, but also natural that we treat each other with respect and justice. These rights are set out in international agreements such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights laid down. It is up to all of us to ensure that we respect and protect these rights, not only for ourselves, but also for others. By doing so, we create a world in which peace and freedom are possible for all.

3. CHILD LABOR

Our business partners only employ staff who have reached the minimum age required to perform work in accordance with the applicable national legislation. They also respect and observe the rights of children.

4. EMPLOYEE RIGHTS

We must comply with and protect all measures to respect employee rights. We therefore training courses to ensure occupational safety in everyday life. In order to continuously improve in these areas, we maintain an atmosphere of open exchange. Each of our employees can openly approach the management and make suggestions in addition to the training offered. 

Our office workstations are all equipped with high-quality, ergonomically designed office chairs. Height-adjustable desks are available at every workstation so that employees can make optimum use of their workspace. These also allow employees to work standing up. 

The compatibility of family and career is ensured by flexible working hours and the possibility of part-time employment.

The human rights regulations of the UN apply to the company. In addition, our sustainability model will be based on the basic principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the UN‘s SDGs. ROPEX relies on a values-based corporate culture, continuous employee training and transparent communication.

Our rejection of any form of bribery is unequivocal. We are committed to preventing bribery in all its forms and are actively committed to ensuring that it has no place in our corporate culture. This commitment extends to all areas of our activities and defines our attitude towards ethical principles. To maintain the integrity of our organization, it is essential that all employees report suspicious activities to management immediately. This helps to identify potential risks at an early stage and to act appropriately to protect our integrity and reputation. 

Our aim is to promote a corporate culture in which bribery is never acceptable. By consistently implementing these principles, we not only create a responsible working environment, but also strengthen our position as a trustworthy partner in all business relationships.
