The handling of bioplastics has been known in our company since 2008. Initially, the price was usually the deciding factor in choosing the standard film.
What has remained from the individual projects, however, is the knowledge and understanding of important components, such as sealing and adhesion properties, determination of the thermal process window and determination of the optimum welding parameters from temperature, pressure and time to the final system design.

ALWAYS THE RIGHT SOLUTION
Dealing With Foils Different Recyclate Proportions
Plastic films of packaging films with higher recycled content often have different sealing property. The new thermoplastics mostly require precise temperature input and a controllable process window. ROPEX’s impulse welding technology offers just the right solution for this challenge.
Suitable Solutions For Compostable Bio-Film Material
The introduction or conversion to biodegradable films requires precise temperature application, a controllable process window and a validatable seam strength for seal seam production. ROPEX impulse welding technology is therefore the ideal solution for our customers.
Sealing of mono-layer materials
ROPEX is working with partners on solutions such as coating with biodegradable and high-performance functional coatings that optimally combine the advantages of coated mono-layer materials with the properties of impulse sealing – towards a holistic solution for packaging companies.
Energy-optimized Co2 footprint In production
Each product packed in foil was sealed by melting a thermoplastic. Energy in the form of a temperature input is required to melt the film. However, the majority of systems on the market use a very simple, outdated process that permanently requires a certain minimum temperature.
High quality despite film savings
Efforts are being made to save packaging material. With narrow seams, the sealing technology should meet the highest demands on the sealing seam, such as tensile strength and gas tightness while maintaining a visually appealing quality.
Cellulose-based packaging solutions
Cellophane has evolved into a modern, multifunctional packaging film. In corresponding customer projects, ROPEX is required to convert a sealing medium between the paper layers into a tightly sealed package. This usually involves a thin PE coating, a wax coating, a resin coating, a sugar-based solution or even a hot glue.
