Video: Time-based vs. temperature-based control in thermoplastic sealing

In impulse sealing, the control method has a major influence on seam quality, process stability, and energy efficiency. Two commonly used approaches are time-based control and temperature-based control.

This video explains how both systems work and shows where each solution works best. 🎥

More Information

Time-based systems regulate the welding process by supplying energy over a defined period of time and are therefore suitable for simple films and stable conditions. Temperature-controlled solutions such as RESISTRON and CIRUS measure and control the temperature of the heating element in real time, enabling greater precision and repeatability, especially with multi-layer materials or films with a high recycled content.

As packaging materials become increasingly complex, choosing the right control method is becoming more and more important in order to achieve reliable and consistent sealing results.
